Last week I participated in the Gallery Walk in Port Townsend.  I had a wonderful time and saw some beautiful and thought provoking art.  Here are some pictures of the event.  Tonight I did my first open mike poetry reading at the Writer's Workshoppe and it was great.  A warm, generous group of talented writers who made me feel like I was one of them.  Can't wait to do it again.

Judy's Excellent Adventure

I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for over a year.  I wanted a "broken" heart to honor my own and remind me every day to take care of it.  When you have had a silent heart attack you need a reminder.

Not knowing I had a heart attack was about as bad as knowing....My stents are doing their job but I sometimes forget they need my cooperation and help to keep doing what they are meant to do.  Sooooo, what better reminder than a permanent "marker"??

So with the loving help of a dear and long time friend, Gary, and his partner Aaron and friend Tony, they led me through the process, holding my hand and loving me all the way.  Yes, it did hurt but I'm a trooper, or so Aaron said.  Thanks to my guys for making my adventure one to remember with love.  Not a bad way to celebrate 2 years since the heart event and my 70th year.  I'm still here and living the good life.

I'm having a love affair with Port Townsend.  I arrived at my summer rental on August 1st and have had great days and great weather ever since.  Farmer's Markets that make my mouth water, scenery that makes me feel like I'm in a movie, thrift stores filled with goodies galore, garage sales with interesting people and things, gallery walks, music on the dock, in the streets and clubs, a church with my kind of people just a couple blocks away and my favorite jazz station (88.5) coming in loud and clear.

Visitors on the way, lunch dates coming, ferry rides in the future, beach walks with a "found" walking stick and the Writer's Workshoppe open and available....plus fresh salmon and finally halibut!  How could I not be in love.....oh, I forgot to mention, deer families roaming the streets....no rabbits eating the gardens but the deer feast so the fences are higher....they came through and ate my geraniums the first night I put the pot out....so I felt right at home.  Here are the pictures to back up my story.....
